Terms of Service
Version 2.3. Effective 19/10/2026.
1. These terms
1.1
These terms are a legal agreement between you and FMP Ventures Ltd about your use of Pulse. By creating an account, or by using Pulse, you accept them.
1.2
If you are a consumer, you have statutory rights that these terms cannot take away. Section 12 explains the main ones. Where these terms conflict with your statutory rights, your statutory rights prevail.
1.3
If you are accepting these terms for a company or other organisation, you confirm you have authority to bind it, and “you” in these terms means that organisation.
1.4
Our Privacy Notice at https://pulse.fundmypitch.com/privacy explains how we handle personal data. It is not part of these terms.
1.5
Pulse is sold for business use, which includes investing on your own account. When you subscribe you confirm that you are buying for your business, trade, profession or investment activity and not as a consumer. If you are in fact a consumer, the consumer protections in these terms and the law still apply to you, including the right to cancel in section 7, which you can use by emailing us.
2. Who we are and how to contact us
2.1
Pulse is operated by FMP Ventures Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales with company number 13810662, trading as FundMyPitch. Our registered office is 128 City Road, London EC1V 2NX. Our VAT number is GB426731986.
2.2
You can contact us at [email protected]. Our postal address for notices and complaints is 128 City Road, London EC1V 2NX.
2.3
We are not authorised or regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority. Nothing in Pulse is investment advice, and Pulse does not carry on any regulated activity. Section 9 explains this in more detail.
3. The service
3.1
Pulse is an online research tool. It presents information about UK companies, their funding and their shareholders, built from official UK company records (including the public register kept by Companies House) and published Innovate UK grant data, which we process with our own methods to produce the estimates, ratings and connections you see.
3.2
Depending on your plan, Pulse includes:
- investors, including individual angel investors (not on the Company data plan), ranked by the number of companies they have backed, and each investor's portfolio and co-investors;
- companies, their funding rounds with estimated amounts and estimated valuations, exits and changes of control, and grant awards;
- network views of investors who appear in the same companies, including the shortest chains of shared shareholdings between two investors, or between an investor and a company;
- Ask Pulse (section 3.3), a shortlist with private notes and outreach statuses, saved searches, and a weekly email about companies you follow and new matches for your saved searches;
- exports of companies, rounds and investment firms where your plan includes them (section 10.2);
- for founders: a guided plan, a company profile and, where offered, Matches, which compares what you tell us about your company, including any pitch deck you upload, with investors' published criteria and shows where each says to apply;
- the option to confirm your own record, add details to a verified record, join a syndicate, and, for a verified company, tell subscribers it is raising (section 9); and
- how-to guides (playbooks) and help.
3.3
Ask Pulse lets you put a question in plain English. The answer is generated by an artificial intelligence model operated by a third-party provider, working only from records held in Pulse. Section 8 applies to those answers.
3.4
Pulse is a research and information service. It is not a marketplace, an introducer service, a broker, an investment adviser or a corporate finance adviser.
4. Plans, seats and team access
4.1
The plans, what each includes, and the current price of each are set out at https://pulse.fundmypitch.com/pricing. The plan you buy is the plan shown on your order confirmation.
4.2
A seat is for one named individual. Credentials must not be shared, and a seat must not be used by more than one person. A login can be signed in on up to 2 devices at once; signing in on another device signs out the one used longest ago. On plans with more than one seat, the account owner invites colleagues and is responsible for what they do with the account.
4.3
The Company data plan shows firms and companies only. It does not show individual investors by name.
4.4
If you upgrade, we charge the difference for the remainder of your current billing period. If you downgrade, the change takes effect at your next renewal and no refund is due for the current period, except where section 7 applies.
5. Price, VAT and payment
5.1
The price you pay is the price shown at the point you place your order.
5.2
Prices are shown exclusive of VAT, with the total including UK VAT beside them. If you are a consumer in the United Kingdom, that total, including VAT and any other taxes, is the price you pay for the subscription period, and no further charges will be added.
5.3
If you are a business, prices are shown exclusive of VAT and VAT is added at the applicable rate. If you are outside the United Kingdom, VAT is applied in accordance with the place of supply rules and any reverse charge or non-UK VAT treatment will be shown at checkout.
5.4
Payment is taken by card through our payment provider, Stripe. We do not receive or store your card details.
5.5
We may change our prices. We will give you at least 30 days' notice in writing before a price change takes effect, and the change will not take effect before your next renewal. If you do not accept a price change, you may cancel before it takes effect and we will refund any amount you have paid for a period after the change takes effect.
5.6
If a payment fails, we may suspend access after giving you notice and a reasonable opportunity to pay.
5.7
From time to time we offer discounts, such as founding member, referral and partner discounts. Unless we tell you otherwise when you subscribe, a discount applies only to the first 12 months of an account's first paid subscription, only one discount applies at a time, and after the first 12 months the standard price for your plan and billing period applies. Section 5.5 does not apply to the end of a discount.
5.8
Where we give you free access for a set period (for example as a tester or through a partner), it ends on the date we tell you. It does not turn into a paid subscription, and nothing is charged, unless you choose to subscribe.
6. When your subscription starts, and renewal
6.1
Your subscription starts when we confirm your order and runs for the billing period you choose: one month, three months or 12 months. Not every plan offers every billing period.
6.2
Your subscription renews automatically for a further period of the same length at the end of each period unless you turn off renewal before the renewal date.
6.3
You can turn off renewal at any time in the billing area of your account, in one step and without contacting us. Turning off renewal does not end your current period: access continues until the end of the period you have paid for.
6.4
Before each renewal of a quarterly or yearly subscription, and at least once every six months for a monthly subscription, we will send you a reminder, at least 14 days before the renewal date, telling you the amount to be charged, the date of the charge, and how to cancel. The reminder will be sent by email to the address on your account. Where the law requires a reminder at a different time or in a different form, we will comply with that requirement.
6.5
If the amount to be charged at renewal is more than the amount you last paid, the reminder will say so prominently.
6.6
Where you have taken a free trial, we will tell you before the trial ends that a paid subscription is about to begin, and how to cancel.
6.7
Before access begins we will send you a copy of these terms, the plan details and the cancellation information by email, so that you have them on a durable medium. Where you buy as a consumer, that confirmation will include the model cancellation form in Schedule 1.
7. Your right to cancel
7.1
This section applies if you are a consumer and you bought your subscription at a distance (online, by email or by telephone).
7.2
You have the right to cancel within 14 days starting on the day the contract is made, without giving any reason. You can cancel by using the form in Schedule 1 or by telling us by email at [email protected] or by post at 128 City Road, London EC1V 2NX. A clear statement that you wish to cancel is enough; you do not have to use the form.
7.3
To cancel, send your notice before the 14-day period ends. We will acknowledge it without delay and refund the price using the same payment method you used, within 14 days of your notice.
7.4
If you ask to start using Pulse immediately, we will begin supply before the 14 days have run only if you have made an express request to do so and have acknowledged that you will have to pay for the service supplied up to the point you cancel, and that the right to cancel is lost once the service has been fully performed at the end of the subscription period. Where you cancel after supply has begun, you pay only for the proportion of the service supplied before you told us you were cancelling, calculated from the total price. If we did not give you the cancellation information required by law, or if we began supply without a valid request, you pay nothing for the service supplied before cancellation.
7.5
The check box before payment that asks you to start your access now is a request for the purposes of section 7.4. Where we let you buy as an individual and you do not tick it, access begins when the 14-day period ends, and you may cancel at any time before then at no cost.
7.6
If we have not given you the cancellation information required by law, your cancellation period is extended. It ends 14 days after you receive that information if we provide it within 12 months, and otherwise 12 months after the date on which it would have ended.
7.7
After the 14-day period, you may stop the subscription renewing at any time by turning off renewal in your account. That is not a cancellation: access continues to the end of the period you have paid for, and no refund is due for the unexpired part, except where section 10.4 or section 15.3 applies. To cancel outright and obtain a refund outside the 14-day period, you need one of the grounds in section 15 or a remedy under section 12.
7.8
If you are a business subscriber, section 7 does not apply. You may turn off renewal at any time, and no refund is due for the unexpired part of a period except where section 10.4 or section 15.3 applies. If you confirmed business use when you subscribed but are in fact a consumer, tell us within the 14 days and section 7 applies to you. We may ask what you bought Pulse for, and we decide on the facts, not only on the box ticked.
8. Ask Pulse and artificial intelligence outputs
8.1
Answers from Ask Pulse are generated by an artificial intelligence model. They are produced automatically from records held in Pulse and are not reviewed by a person before you see them.
8.2
Artificial intelligence outputs can be incomplete, out of date or wrong, including about which investor backed which company or in what amount. You must check any answer against the underlying records shown in Pulse before you rely on it, and against the primary filing where the point matters.
8.3
Ask Pulse answers are not advice. They are not investment, legal, tax, accounting or financial advice, and they are not a recommendation about any person, company or investment.
8.4
Ask Pulse is a search and summarisation tool. It does not make decisions about you, and it does not decide whether any investor is shown in Pulse. Section 13 of our Privacy Notice explains how we handle automated processing.
8.5
Do not enter special category personal data, another person's confidential information, or any information you are not entitled to disclose into Ask Pulse. Questions and the records needed to answer them are processed by our artificial intelligence model provider, as described in our Privacy Notice.
9. No investment advice, and no financial promotion by us
9.1
Pulse is an information service. Nothing in Pulse is an invitation or inducement to invest, to subscribe for shares, or to enter into any investment agreement. Nothing in Pulse is a prospectus, a financial promotion, or a recommendation.
9.2
We do not introduce subscribers to investors, do not arrange or facilitate any investment, do not negotiate or advise on terms, and do not receive any fee, commission or success fee in connection with any investment.
9.3
Any approach you make to a person named in Pulse is made by you, on your own account, and not by us. We are not a party to it and have no responsibility for it.
9.4
If you are raising investment, you are responsible for ensuring that anything you send to an investor complies with the financial promotion restriction in section 21 of the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000 and with the applicable exemptions in the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000 (Financial Promotion) Order 2005. That includes the exemptions you may be relying on as an issuer, and it includes any communication you make through a third-party platform.
9.5
We may in future offer a separate service through FundMyPitch that involves introductions. That service is not part of Pulse, is governed by separate terms, and is not included in any Pulse subscription.
10. Using the information
10.1
Subject to these terms, we grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the information in Pulse for your own internal research and, if you are raising investment, for your own fundraising.
10.2
If your plan includes exports, you may export companies, rounds and investment firms, up to 500 rows per file and within the allowance in section 10.6, for your own organisation's internal use. Exports do not include individual investors, single names or joint holdings.
10.3
You must not:
- resell, sublicense, republish, redistribute or bulk-copy the information, or make it available to anyone outside your organisation;
- use the information to build or update a database, dataset or product that you offer to others;
- scrape, crawl or systematically extract the information except through the export function we provide;
- attempt to re-identify any person whose data has been suppressed, or use the information to infer that a person has objected or asked to be erased;
- use the information to contact anyone for the purposes of unsolicited marketing except in compliance with the Privacy and Electronic Communications (EC Directive) Regulations 2003 and the UK GDPR;
- use the information to harass, threaten, defame or discriminate against anyone, or to make any decision about credit, employment, insurance, eligibility or access to services;
- use the information in any way that breaches the UK GDPR, the Data Protection Act 2018, the Equality Act 2010, or any other law; or
- present the information as your own or remove any attribution we require.
10.4
We may change or withdraw a feature, or the whole of Pulse, if we reasonably need to. If we withdraw the service permanently during a period you have paid for, we will refund the proportion of that period remaining. If we make a material reduction in what your plan includes, you may cancel and we will refund the proportion of the period remaining.
10.5
Where a person named in Pulse objects to being shown, they are removed from every view and placed on a suppression list. A record may therefore be missing from a search, a count or a portfolio. That is deliberate, and we do not disclose the reason for any individual omission.
10.6
Fair use. So that Pulse stays quick and is not copied in bulk, each plan includes these allowances:
- up to 300 investor and company pages a day for each login;
- Ask Pulse: up to 60 questions a day for each login, one question at a time, and 300 a calendar month on one-seat plans or 1,000 for each seat a calendar month shared across a team plan;
- exports, where your plan includes them: up to 500 rows per file and 5,000 rows a calendar month for each account (1,000 on monthly billing), available 30 days after your first payment on monthly and quarterly billing and straight away on yearly billing; and
- technical limits that protect the service, such as limits on how quickly pages can be requested.
11. Data, estimates and confidence ratings
11.1
Information in Pulse is drawn from records that companies themselves file, which can be late, incomplete or wrong. We do not audit them.
11.2
Amounts invested, valuations, stages and multiples are estimates produced by our own methods. Valuations carry a confidence rating (High, Medium or Low) showing how much reliance each will bear. They are a guide, not a statement of fact. Where we show that a company is dissolved, in liquidation, in administration or has a strike-off notice, that is taken from its Companies House record, and the company's page shows what a label is based on.
11.3
Estimates are labelled as estimates. A confidence rating describes how reliable the underlying price appears to be. It is not a warranty, and it is not a statement that the figure is correct.
11.4
If you are named in Pulse and a figure about you is wrong, you can ask us to correct it using the route in our Privacy Notice. Where a filing is wrong, the correction needs to be made at Companies House; we will reflect the corrected filing at the next import.
12. If you are a consumer: your statutory rights
12.1
We must supply the service with reasonable care and skill. Where we do not, you are entitled to the remedies in sections 55 and 56 of the Consumer Rights Act 2015, including repeat performance or a price reduction.
12.2
Anything we say about the service, or about ourselves, that you rely on when deciding to buy is a term of the contract.
12.3
Nothing in these terms affects your right to cancel under section 7, your rights under the Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations 2008 and Part 4 Chapter 1 of the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024, or your right to bring a claim in the courts of the part of the United Kingdom in which you live.
12.4
If you are a consumer in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may bring proceedings in your local courts, and the law of Scotland or Northern Ireland (as applicable) applies to any non-contractual claim.
13. Your obligations when you contact an investor
13.1
Contact with anyone named in Pulse is your responsibility. Before you make contact, you must satisfy yourself that your communication is lawful.
13.2
If you send an unsolicited electronic marketing message to an individual, you must have that person's consent for the purposes of regulation 22 of the Privacy and Electronic Communications (EC Directive) Regulations 2003, or satisfy the soft opt-in condition in regulation 22(3). You must not send a message that conceals your identity or that omits a valid address for opt-out requests, as required by regulation 23 of those Regulations.
13.3
If you process personal data you obtain from Pulse, you are a controller in your own right for that processing. You must have a lawful basis, give the privacy information required by Articles 13 and 14 of the UK GDPR, honour the right to object under Article 21, and keep the data accurate and secure. You must not use the data for any purpose that is incompatible with the purpose for which it is shown in Pulse.
13.4
Where a person has objected, or has asked us to suppress their record, and you hold a copy you obtained earlier, you must stop using that copy for direct marketing. Article 21(2) and 21(3) of the UK GDPR require that. We cannot recall copies you have already exported.
13.5
We may suspend or terminate your account if we have reasonable grounds to believe you have breached this section.
13.6
If you ask anyone you find in Pulse to invest, or send them anything that invites or encourages them to invest, the financial promotion restriction in section 21 of the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000 applies to you. You must make sure that what you send is lawful, for example because an exemption in the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000 (Financial Promotion) Order 2005 applies, and you should take advice if you are unsure. Pulse does not check or approve any communication you send.
13.7
Your own records in Pulse, such as your shortlist, notes and outreach statuses about investors, your saved searches and, if you are a founder, your company profile and any pitch deck you upload, are yours. Where they contain personal data about other people, you are the controller and we process that data on your behalf as your processor, for the purpose of providing Pulse to you and for as long as your account is open. We:
- act only on your documented instructions, which are these terms and how you use Pulse, unless the law requires otherwise, in which case we will tell you unless the law forbids it;
- make sure everyone who handles it is bound by confidentiality;
- keep it secure as described in section 17 of our Privacy Notice;
- use only the sub-processors listed in section 7.3 of our Privacy Notice, on terms that give the same protection, and tell you of any change through that notice so that you can object by closing your account;
- help you, so far as we reasonably can, to respond to requests from the people concerned and to meet your security, breach and impact assessment obligations;
- delete it when your account is closed, unless the law requires us to keep it; and
- give you the information you reasonably need to show that these obligations are met, and allow for reasonable audits on notice.
14. Changes to these terms
14.1
We may change these terms to reflect a change in law, a change in the service, or a change in our arrangements, provided the change is not to your material disadvantage without a valid reason.
14.2
We will give you at least 30 days' notice of any change that affects your rights or obligations, by email and by notice in your account. The current version will always be at https://pulse.fundmypitch.com/terms, with the version number and effective date.
14.3
If you are a consumer and a change is to your material disadvantage, you may cancel before it takes effect and we will refund the proportion of any period you have paid for that falls after the change.
14.4
If you are a business subscriber and you do not accept a change, you may cancel before it takes effect, and we will refund the proportion of the period remaining.
15. Suspension and termination
15.1
If you exceed an allowance in section 10.6, we will first tell you and may pause the feature concerned until the allowance resets. We suspend access for overuse only where it is repeated or deliberate after we have told you, and the notice, remedy and review steps in the rest of this section then apply. We may suspend your access if we have reasonable grounds to believe that you have breached section 10 or section 13. Except where the breach exposes us, a person named in Pulse, or another subscriber to a real risk (for example unlawful use, scraping, harassment, or a security risk), we will give you written notice stating the breach, what needs to be done to remedy it, and at least 7 days to do so. You may respond and ask us to review the decision, and we will review it within 7 days. If a suspension is not upheld, or lasts more than 30 days, we will refund the proportion of the period you have paid for that remains unused.
15.2
We may terminate your account on 30 days' notice if we permanently withdraw Pulse. Section 10.4 applies to any refund.
15.3
We may terminate immediately if you become insolvent or if we are required to by law.
15.4
On termination your licence under section 10 ends. You must delete any copies of exported data that you no longer have a lawful basis to keep, subject to any legal obligation to retain it.
16. Our liability
16.1
We must supply Pulse with reasonable care and skill. That is a term of this contract, implied by section 49 of the Consumer Rights Act 2015 for consumers and agreed expressly for everyone else, and nothing in this section reduces it. Separately, and without affecting that duty, we do not promise that the service will be available without interruption, and sections 8 and 11 explain the limits of the information and of artificial intelligence outputs. Where the service is not supplied with reasonable care and skill, your remedies are those in section 12, including repeat performance and a price reduction.
16.2
Subject to sections 16.3 and 16.4, our liability to you in connection with your subscription, whether in contract, tort (including negligence) or otherwise, for direct loss is limited to the greater of (a) the fees you paid in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim and (b) £500.
16.3
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for:
- death or personal injury caused by our negligence, which section 65 of the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and section 2(1) of the Unfair Contract Terms Act 1977 prohibit us from limiting;
- fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation;
- breach of the obligations implied by section 49 of the Consumer Rights Act 2015 (reasonable care and skill) or section 50 of that Act (information about the trader or service), which by section 57(1) and 57(2) of that Act cannot be excluded or restricted in a consumer contract;
- any other liability that cannot be limited or excluded by law.
16.3A
Where you are a consumer, the limit in section 16.2 does not apply to the extent that section 57(3) of the Consumer Rights Act 2015 provides that a term restricting liability is not binding because it would prevent you recovering the price you paid, nor to the extent that it would be unfair under section 62 of that Act.
16.4
If you are a business subscriber, the limits in section 16.2 apply and are agreed to be reasonable for the purposes of section 11 of the Unfair Contract Terms Act 1977, having regard to the price, the availability of insurance, and the fact that Pulse is a research tool whose outputs you are required to check.
16.5
We are not liable for loss of profit, loss of business, loss of a funding round, loss of opportunity, loss of goodwill, or any indirect or consequential loss, and we are not liable for any investment decision you make. Nothing in this section affects your statutory rights as a consumer, and nothing in it limits the carve-outs in section 16.3.
16.6
If you are a consumer and section 16.2 would operate unfairly, it does not bind you to that extent, by operation of section 62 of the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
17. Complaints and dispute resolution
17.1
If you have a complaint, contact us at [email protected] or write to 128 City Road, London EC1V 2NX. We will acknowledge your complaint within 5 working days and respond in full within 28 days.
17.2
When we tell you the outcome of your complaint, we will also tell you whether alternative dispute resolution is available to you and, if it is, how to use it. That is required by section 308 of the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024. If no accredited alternative dispute resolution provider is available for your complaint, we will say so.
17.3
Nothing in this section prevents you from bringing a claim in court, or, if you are a consumer, from complaining to a trading standards service.
18. Governing law and jurisdiction
18.1
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
18.2
If you are a business subscriber, the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
18.3
If you are a consumer, the governing law and jurisdiction are those of the part of the United Kingdom in which you live. Nothing in these terms deprives you of the protection of the mandatory rules of the law of your country of residence, including where you are resident in an EEA state and Regulation (EC) No 593/2008 applies.
19. General
19.1
If any part of these terms is found to be invalid, the rest continues in force.
19.2
We may transfer our rights and obligations under these terms to another organisation, provided that the transfer does not reduce your rights. We will tell you in writing at least 30 days before any transfer.
19.3
You may not transfer your rights under these terms without our written consent.
19.4
A person who is not a party to these terms has no rights under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999.
19.5
These terms, together with your order confirmation, are the entire agreement between us. Our Privacy Notice explains how we handle personal data; as section 1.4 says, it is not part of this contract.
19.6
If we do not enforce a term, that is not a waiver of it.
19.7
We will communicate with you by email to the address on your account, and by notice in your account. You must keep your email address up to date.
